When supper clubs aren’t been hosted, cook at home meal kits mirror that supper club experience at home.

Founded on two generations of family history, and a culture which puts food at the heart of the home, Little Yellow Rice Co. brings tried and tested family recipes to supper club tables across Leeds.

After returning from Penang, Malaysia in 2019, Hannah and Rob launched Little Yellow Rice Co, a Peranakan cuisine experience that serves plates of simple and flavourful food to a table full of strangers.

As LYRCo geared up for a big year of crafting supper club experiences, events were suddenly cancelled, rebooked, and canceled again. Gatherings had been banned leaving LYRCo without been able to operate. As restrictions loosened the business model adapted offering meal kits, home delivery and online products.

Normally the printed menus and Hannah’s commentary formed an integral part of the supper club experience, introducing the diners to the family history as the meal progressed. However meal kits and home delivery did not offer this experience.

We used print design to tell the story of the brand, and clear instructions make the cooking process easy, mirroring a laid back supper club experience.
